Two of our Rotary Club members, AG Tarek Omar and Hala Abou Youssef have attended the Rotary International Convention 2017 that was held in Atlanta - USA on June 10th- 14th.
They met many Rotarians from different parts of the world in the House of Friendship.

Handover Ceremony for Rotary year 2016/2017

Hosted by our dear friend and fellow rotarian, Rasha El Kassas, we enjoyed an elegant and delicious Ramadan Eftar, after which Rotary Club 6th of October Shams celebrated the Handover for the year 2016-2017.
In a brief and concise presentation , the Club President for the coming year 2017-2018, Kamel Sallam shared the club goals and strategic plan for the upcoming year which engaged the members and made hopes for an active prosperous year to serve the community and really make a difference.

Rotary D2451 Egypt General Assembly

To wrap up this Rotarian year ending on June 30th, Rotary D2451 Egypt held its general assembly at the Steigenberger Tahrir Hotel . The proposed budget for 2017-2018 presented by the Incoming Treasurer Tarek Halwagy was approved by voting. Incoming District Governor Hamada Zahran presented his vision and strategic plan for the coming year 2017-2018 while PDG Mohamed Delawar explained the proposed new system for selection of district governors that will be voted on later . DG Mayan Raslan further talked about the new method of selection and asserted that setting goals in Rotary was the best way to achieving more. Finally PDG Adel Hafez ended the meeting with a talk about growing and retaining membership in Rotary.

Brainstorming Session For Vocational Training for Nurse Assistants

The project aims at recruiting and training young people with medium education to become health assistants who give a non medical hand to assist and care for the patient parallel to the nurse's care, as well as placing them, whether in private hospitals or homes of patients in need of the service they offer. The project not only establishes a category of health carers that offers a special service but also improves the socioeconomic standards of both, the trainees and the families of patients who would be free to work while someone else takes care of their loved ones.

Grant Management Seminar

Two of our club members PE Kamel Sallam and Zeinab Mourad attended the District 2451 Grant Management Seminar. PDG Mohamed Delawer , D2451- TRF Committee Chair moderated the seminar .He also gave an important presentation on the Strategic plan for 2017- 2018.
The seminar addressed different topics related to the Global Grant Management.
Attending this seminar is a prerequisite for a Rotary Club to apply and manage a Global Grant Project, so now we are good to go..

Economic Situation in Egypt since 2008

our club was honoured to host Ms. Sahar El Damati, Deputy Managing Director and member of the board of NBD Emirates Bank. She gave a clarification about the economic situation in Egypt since 2008 till the present, comparing government different revenue sources. She explained the budget deficit and how it can be funded, external debt, and the IMF (International Monetary Fund) evaluation of these debts. She highlighted what is meant by treasury bills and their importance. Finally the developments and projects constructed and their importance relative to the economic situation of the country.

Our guest Hadeer waleed Shalaby is the Manager of Careem Cairo and the daughter of our dear friend and fellow Rotarian Dalida Nabil. Careem Cairo was the smart solution for safe, feasible and comfortable, at your door transportation that was really needed in Egypt.
